New cidermakers Tom & Lydia are committed environmentalists and passionate about making natural cider completely without additives. They live in the Golden Valley, just outside Hay-on-Wye on the Welsh border, where they grow all their own food according to permaculture principles, and are currently in the process of planting their own orchard. While the orchard is growing they source all their fruit from unsprayed traditional orchards in their local area.
A lovely blend of bittersweets and late bittersharps from one of Lydia's favourite orchards (Duffryn). A more select assortment of fruit here than in 'Duffryn-2020' to create a perfectly balanced cider in terms of it's sweetness, acidiy and tannin. A lovely rich cider which for Tom and Lydia really is representative of the terroir of this special orchard - transporting them back to harvest 2020 - it has all of the sweetness of the sunshine, the minerality of the rain showers, combined with the earthy ripeness of the orchard floor and red apple skin scents of those late October days.
