Trailblazing winemakers René-Jean Dard & François Ribo have been making quality natural wines since back in the 1980s - often being maligned for pursuing this dogma by neighbouring estates. Their wines are some of the most sought after wines for restaurants across Europe.
Natives of the region, Rene-Jean Dard and Francois Ribo met at wine school and formed their eponymous brand in 1984 with just 1hA of vines and a tiny cellar tucked away in the back streets of Tain-l'Hermitage. Now working with over 7hA of vines over 7 villages in the Crozes-Hermitage, St Joseph and Hermitage appellations they have moved their cellar to the hamlet of Blanche-Laine.
Their wines are all about instant 'drinkability' rather than ones to cellar and age (not that you couldn't if you so wished - they age beautifully!). The Croze Hermitage red is a selection of grapes harvested from plots outside of Larnage plated on red clay, gravel and alluvial stones giving this wine a dense rich backbone to bring structure and depth to the trademark 'juicer' style of the winemakers.
We only get a tiny allocation of these wines as they are usually only destined for hospitality so best to grab them whilst you can!
