Joe Jefferies left Warwickshire and went to the South of France to help his Dad do up a house. He met a girl, fell in love and never looked back. Influenced by his new winemaker friends, Remi Poujol and Bernard Bellahsen of Domaine Fontedicto, he decided to try his hand with the grape, taking over his stepdads Grenache Blanc vines and finding other north-facing vineyards around his home town of Caux.


The vineyards all sit on the plateau of an old volcano, with vineyards rich in basalt and in an increasingly warm climate Joe still manages to find freshness in his wines. All of the wines are produced with zero additions, no fining or filtering and he gives the wines the time they need before releasing them.


This release is is 60% Grenache Noir, 20% Cinsault & 20% Carigan blend. The Grenache is given a gentle two week whole bunch maceration, the Carignan & Cinsault are then infused in the juice of the Grenache for 5 days. It gives a very bright lush style full of dark fruit and soft velvety tannins, freshness and minerality from the basalt soils.


The Brutal! wine labels came about from a drunken night in Catalunya by Danish importers Roskorth & Roskorth. They wanted zero-zero wines (nothing added or removed) that had a production level of less than 200 bottles and an intrinsic flaw or technical wine fault that made the wine's character more exciting in the glass.     Unfortunately from time to time wines or ciders may arrive out of condition, usually due to defective closures or any number of possible naturally occurring faults. If you find a bottle where you believe this is the case please contact us immediately.

    You may wish to cancel your order for whatever reason after it arrives. In which case you may do so within 7 working days from receiving the order, provided the bottles are unopened, intact and in their original packaging (which must still be in its original condition). Once the goods are collected and inspected, we will reimburse you for the cost of the product minus a surcharge for collection. If you fail to make the goods available for collection within 14 days of cancellation, you will be deemed to have accepted the goods.
