Father and son team Bernard and Benoir Landron started producing wines under their own label in 2008 and started organic conversion in 2010. They are now progressing in their plan to eliminate oil from the production of their wines by replacing tractors with shire horses in the vineyards.
Champtoceaux is from a specific parcel of vines planted on Gneiss bedrock and produces wine that Benoir considers one of his top cuvees. Some long lees aging gives a much deeper breadth and power to the trademark salinity one would expect from this region.
