Chateau Barouillet is a family business going back eight generations. Vincent Alexis pushed his father to convert into organic production, and since 2014 the whole estate is certified. He has since gone further with his approach, working naturally, minimising the use of sulphur (often not adding at all) and has started to use some biodynamic principles in the vineyard as well.
Larcin is a crow who was taken in by Vincent after it had been injured. It settled in and now lives at Chateau Barouillet, sometimes sleeping with the dogs if it's cold. The crow would steal shiny things like tools & keys, and so was given the name Larcin, which means minor robbery in French. He has become almost like a mascot on the estate, hence the cuvée with its name.
