Philippe Delmee was a maths teacher who made the move to winemaking in 2006. He now has about 6ha of land across many small parcels around Anjou, all farmed organically. The soil is mostly schist, and the vines are Chenin Blanc, Cabernet Franc, Grolleau and a little Pineaud'Aunis. Sulphur is only added in the pied de cuve for each wine and he does not fine or filter.
We fell in love with Chenin Blanc from Anjou years ago and keep coming back to this one! Fermented in barrels for 10 months. This opens up very nicely in the glass, so don’t rush.
