This cider combines two barrels, one ex-cognac and the other ex-bourbon, in a blend that brings together some wonderful tannic fruit-Harry Masters Jersey, Ellis Bitter & Ashton Bitter - with with the bright, citrussy Browns Apple.
It is insanely aromatic with an energy on the palate that almost defies logic. Bursting with aromas of tropical fruit and heady barrel perfumes, it’s intense in the mouth; green citrus, mango, peach, sweet spice and exotic flowers. The tannins have been finely polished over time, and all of its elements linger long.
Progressive and experimental cider-makers James and Susanna Forbes have become an essential part of the resurgent interest in fine cider & perry. Inspired by wine-making techniques, using natural techniques and caring for their environment, they were named ‘2019 Cider Producer of the Year’ by the Hereford Times. They make ciders & perries with character & structure that go especially well alongside a meal.
