Torcuato Huertas makes wine in the Sierra Nevada in Andalucia. He grows 21 grape varieties on just 3 hectares (!) across two plots. Summer days are hot and nights are chilly, with snow being common in winter. Each plot has it's own microclimate too and the wines reflect this- one is more sheltered at 900masl, and the other one is an exposed site higher up at 1050masl.
The Purulio Tinto uses grapes from both sites, all vinified together. It has great depth and structure balanced with a bright acidity and red fruit notes, like pomegranate!
