Tenuta Di Valgiano is located in the North of Tuscany, 300 meters above sea level in the Colline Lucchesi appellation overlooking the city of Lucca. It has been a wine estate since the 16th century, and some of the buildings are almost as old as the estate. Converted to biodynamics in 2002, the farm covers 40 hectares, 16 of which are vineyards, and another 13 are home to honeybees and olive trees, which produce outstanding olive oil and honey.

Palistorti is a single vineyard names after the crooked support posts for the vines (it's so hard to get posts into this ground they are all crooked!). This is predominantly sangiovese but with some syrah and merlot (French varietals were introduced to Tuscany after Napoleon's conquest of teh region and planted by Elisa Baciocchi Bonaparte (his sister) when she was ruling the town of Lucca in 1804) and a blend of the indigenous varieties of Ciliegiolo, Canaiolo, Colorino, Barbera, Tazzelenghe which make a beautifully balanced bright red fruit profile and a savoury, rustic finish.
