This wine is made from a blend of grapes from a selection of 10 small vineyards. It is clean, lightly floral & easy drinking.  A small portions of the grapes were fermented on skins, adding a bit more structure & some herbal elements. 


Michael & Melanie Volker returned to Michaels fathers winery in Kitzingen after a career in publishing, and completely changed the production, over time converting all vineyards to organic and phasing out the use of additives. All their wines are now fermented with natural yeast and only tiny amounts of sulphur are used in their Vater & Sohn range. For this vintage only 5mg/l was added at bottling (despite the label saying 20mg).
