THE WINE

Fabrizio's wines are bold whilst retaining a fresh & vibrant edge. He aims to reflect the territory and nature of the grape. This Barbera is aged in concrete - no wood is used- to support this expression and as not to overpower the wine.

The vines are planted on south facing slopes of calcareous clay - some of the vines being planted as far back as 1940.

THE PEOPLE

Fabrizio Iuli grew up in a small village called Montaldo in Monferrato, Piedmonte, and got into winemaking by making house wine for the family restaurant. He gradually planted more vineyards in the surrounding area and now grows a few unusual herotage varieties as well as Barbera & Nebbiolo.

THE PLACE

The Monferrato region in Piedmont is celebrated not only for its iconic Barbera and Dolcetto but also for lesser-known local grapes like Grignolino, Ruchè, and Freisa, which produce wines full of personality and regional character. Many small, family-run estates focus on low-intervention and organic viticulture, emphasizing traditional methods that let the terroir shine. Reds are often bright, aromatic, and food-friendly, with fine tannins and lively acidity, while whites such as Arneis and Cortese offer freshness and minerality. The region also produces artisanal sparkling wines using traditional methods, particularly from Pinot Nero and Chardonnay, showcasing the elegance and finesse of Monferrato’s rolling hills and calcareous soils. These wines reflect a deep connection to local heritage, craftsmanship, and the nuanced expression of their vineyards.
