Konni and Evi met while Konni was studying winemaking in Würzburg. When an opportunity arose to buy a vineyard, they moved to his hometown of Burgscheidungen, Saxony-Anhalt. Though winemaking is currently a side project—Evi is a primary school teacher, and Konni works at a conventional winery—they dedicate evenings and weekends to their vineyards.

Konni's passion for winemaking began at age 13, and after gaining experience in New Zealand and Austria, they produced their first vintage in 2017. They started farming organically and biodynamically, inspired by Konni’s time at Heinrich winery in Austria. Their first vineyard, Ziegental, is a 0.8-hectare plot with old vines, including Müller-Thurgau, Silvaner, and Portugieser. Recently, they expanded to additional plots, including the historic "Mountain of Silence" with vines dating back to 1912.

With help from family and friends, Konni and Evi strive to express the region’s unique character through wines with low alcohol and high acidity.

Born from a poor harvest in 2020 when Konni put out an SOS to other growers for grapes, the SOS series has become the negoce line for these young winemakers.  The 2021 grapes came from their good friend Paul and his family who were tired of seeing their hard labours sold into mass production cooperative wine.
