Moulin de la Gardette Winery, located in the renowned Gigondas appellation of the Rhône Valley, is a family-owned estate dedicated to crafting exceptional wines. With a focus on organic and sustainable practices, the vineyards benefit from the Mediterranean sun and Mistral winds, resulting in wines known for their depth and terroir expression.
This Gigondas is a true testament to meticulous winemaking in an area well known for big over the top wines that lose any sense of freshness and appeal. Sourced from a selection of old bush vine parcels, notably La Gardette, St Jean, Jasio, and Grames. The vineyards, tended organically and situated at high altitudes south of the village, boast a diverse soil composition of marls, safres (sands), and limestone-clay, contributing to the wine's distinctive character. Winemaker Jean-Baptiste's calculated gamble to harvest in mid-October, a month later than regional norms, has yielded a remarkably fine and elegant expression of Gigondas.
Aged primarily in old foudres, unveils an enticing red cherry color and a bouquet reminiscent of bramble fruits, menthol, and pine. The palate is a harmonious symphony of flavors, with beautifully nuanced raspberry and blackberry old viney fruit, intertwined with notes of liquorice, leather, violets, and a subtle blend of nutmeg and cinnamon stick. The complexity is further enhanced by a juicy berry acidity and a saline lick, all seamlessly held together by fine-grained tannins.
Whilst it's tasting great now this wine will also benefot from further ageing - possibly up to 2039.

Unfortunately from time to time wines or ciders may arrive out of condition, usually due to defective closures or any number of possible naturally occurring faults. If you find a bottle where you believe this is the case please contact us immediately.
You may wish to cancel your order for whatever reason after it arrives. In which case you may do so within 7 working days from receiving the order, provided the bottles are unopened, intact and in their original packaging (which must still be in its original condition). Once the goods are collected and inspected, we will reimburse you for the cost of the product minus a surcharge for collection. If you fail to make the goods available for collection within 14 days of cancellation, you will be deemed to have accepted the goods.
