THE WINE

100% Pinot Noir from 3 established growers, winemakers and friends in the Cote des Bars; Olivier Horiot, Eric Collinet and Florent Grados.  The new wavw coppoerative  was created by Olivier Horiot to offer Champagne at more accessible prices while showcasing the unique character of the soils and vineyards of Les Riceys. It also incorporates grapes from young local vignerons—producers who may not yet be well-known internationally but who are committed to organic or biodynamic farming.

Only 300 bottles were made available for the UK market!

THE PEOPLE

Olivier Horiot
Olivier Horiot is widely recognized as the star of Les Riceys and for his deep commitment to ecological viticulture. He farms his parcels biodynamically, emphasizing soil vitality, biodiversity, and minimal intervention. Horiot incorporates cover crops, manual work, and natural preparations to encourage a balanced ecosystem, allowing each micro-parcel to express its identity. His approach focuses on restoring the land, reducing chemical inputs to zero, and cultivating vineyards that can thrive sustainably for generations.

Éric Collinet
Éric Collinet’s work in Bragelogne-Beauvoir is defined by a thoughtful, nature-led approach to farming. Certified organic since 2014, he integrates biodynamic practices and has increasingly turned to agroforestry—planting trees among the vines to enhance biodiversity, soil structure, and climate resilience. Collinet prioritizes living soils, avoids synthetic treatments entirely, and fosters natural balance within his small 2.25-hectare estate. His environmental methods aim to protect both the land and the authenticity of his Champagne.

Florent Grados
At Domaine Émile Grados in Les Riceys, Florent Grados champions sustainable viticulture rooted in organic farming and biodiversity preservation. Along with his sister, he manages the family’s vineyards with a focus on mechanical weeding, reduced soil compaction, and the protection of surrounding flora and fauna. The estate is certified organic, and the team continues to experiment with agroforestry and practices that encourage natural vineyard resilience. Grados’s environmental ethos seeks to let the terroir speak through healthy, thriving vines cultivated with respect for the land.

THE PLACE

Les Riceys, situated at the southern tip of the Champagne region within the Côte des Bar, occupies a unique position both geographically and viticulturally. This area benefits from slightly warmer temperatures and a more continental climate than the northern Champagne heartlands around Reims and Épernay, giving the grapes extra ripeness and expressive fruit character. The soils—predominantly chalk with clay-limestone pockets—impart minerality and structure, while the small, fragmented vineyard plots encourage careful, site-specific cultivation. While the region produces sparkling Champagne like the rest of the Côte des Bar, the local Champagnes often display richer, fruit-forward profiles, softer acidity, and a more approachable early-drinking style compared with the sharper, more austere northern Champagnes. Les Riceys is also world-famous for its rosé des Riceys, a rare still rosé made entirely from Pinot Noir, offering delicate red fruit aromas, fine minerality, and remarkable aging potential. Together, these wines reflect the southern terroir’s balance of warmth, finesse, and structural elegance, setting them apart within Champagne.
