A blend of two parcels: Merlot from limestone slopes, close to the Gironde estuary; Cab-Sauvignon planted over gravelly soil near Reignac. Everything is destemmed, gently macerated and aged only in concrete for a pure expression of the fruit. An amazing value Bordeaux!
THE PEOPLE
Damien Lorteau returned home to his parent's estate in 2010 after travelling and working in vineyards worldwide. He convinced his parents to convert to organic agriculture, something that is still uncommon in Bordeaux, and after officially taking over in 2013 he went further, moving to low intervention winemaking, using native (natural) yeast and no sulphur during vinification, only a minimal amount at bottling.
THE PLACE
Blaye, located on the right bank of the Gironde estuary in Bordeaux, produces approachable, value-driven wines under the Blaye‑Côtes de Bordeaux appellation. Reds are typically Merlot-dominant blends with Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, showing ripe red and black fruit, gentle spice, and soft tannins, making them accessible early while still capable of moderate ageing. Whites, made from Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon, and occasionally Muscadelle, are fresh and aromatic, with citrus and stone fruit notes. Compared with more prestigious neighbouring appellations like Saint-Émilion or Pomerol, Blaye wines are lighter, more approachable, and less expensive, with less concentration and ageing potential, but they offer a clear expression of their clay-limestone soils and a reliable, terroir-driven Bordeaux character, making them an excellent introduction to the region.

In the unlikely event that your product is damaged on arrival or if the wrong product has been delivered to you, please contact us and we will arrange for collection and exchange or reimbursement. We will reimburse you within 14 days from the date you notify us, once the items have been collected, returned to us and inspected.
Unfortunately from time to time wines or ciders may arrive out of condition, usually due to defective closures or any number of possible naturally occurring faults. If you find a bottle where you believe this is the case please contact us immediately.
You may wish to cancel your order for whatever reason after it arrives. In which case you may do so within 7 working days from receiving the order, provided the bottles are unopened, intact and in their original packaging (which must still be in its original condition). Once the goods are collected and inspected, we will reimburse you for the cost of the product minus a surcharge for collection. If you fail to make the goods available for collection within 14 days of cancellation, you will be deemed to have accepted the goods.
