In the heart of Vacqueyras, Eric Bouletin's Roucas Toumba stands tall as a leading domaine, its name echoing the history of the region, translating to "the fallen rock" in old Provençal dialect.
Eric's winemaking journey took a bold turn in 2006 when he left the local cooperative to embark on independent vinification. The domaine sprawls across 16 hectares, home to ancient vines strategically chosen by Eric for his exclusive bottlings, while the surplus finds its way into en vrac (bulk) offerings. With roots tracing back to 1580, the Bouletin family's legacy is deeply intertwined with this land, a connection Eric preserves through small, meticulously maintained parcels, sheltered from the Mistral by cypress, almond, and olive trees.
Eric's vineyard, divided into minute plots, hosts venerable Grenache and Carignan vines, while a touch of white grapes introduces a refreshing nuance to his Vacqueyras.
Eric's wines distinguish themselves through a close-to-the-earth experience, where superb freshness, balance, and an authentic portrayal of local terroir take center stage. Each bottle embodies a natural and honest style, a testament to Eric Bouletin's unwavering dedication to creating wines that authentically echo their origins.
