THE WINE
This 100% Cabernet Franc is ruby red with aromas of fresh red fruits, currants, and subtle vegetal notes. On the palate, it offers a light tannic structure with juicy, fresh, and supple flavors. Hand-harvested and foot-trodden, it undergoes carbonic fermentation for 25 days in concrete tanks using indigenous yeast, then matures in Italian amphora. Unfiltered and unfined, it's a natural wine that pairs beautifully with grilled meats, duck breast, salads, or charcuterie.
THE PEOPLE
Sébastien David comes from a long line of winemakers that extends 15 generations, back to 1634. Working with 15ha of Cabernet Franc that were planted by his grandparents at around the time of the Second World War, Sebastien makes natural wines from fruit that is certified organic and biodynamically farmed.
THE PLACE
Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil, located on the right bank of the Loire, produces wines almost entirely from Cabernet Franc. The diverse soils—gravel, sand, and chalky tuffeau—yield reds that range from fresh and fruity to more structured and ageworthy. Expect vibrant aromas of red and black fruits, violets, and subtle spice, with a palate marked by lively acidity and smooth tannins. Compared to its neighbors in Chinon or Bourgueil, Saint-Nicolas wines are often lighter, more aromatic, and approachable in their youth.

Unfortunately from time to time wines or ciders may arrive out of condition, usually due to defective closures or any number of possible naturally occurring faults. If you find a bottle where you believe this is the case please contact us immediately.
You may wish to cancel your order for whatever reason after it arrives. In which case you may do so within 7 working days from receiving the order, provided the bottles are unopened, intact and in their original packaging (which must still be in its original condition). Once the goods are collected and inspected, we will reimburse you for the cost of the product minus a surcharge for collection. If you fail to make the goods available for collection within 14 days of cancellation, you will be deemed to have accepted the goods.
