HE CIDER

A distinctly different style of champagne method compared to our others by Find & Foster.  Barrel-aged and with a richer lick of tannin and a touch of dosage for an off-dry finish.

THE PEOPLE

Taking over the farm in 2011, Will and Anna Chambers started releasing their own ciders in 2017.   A prime example of the increasingly rare small-scale production of farmhouse cider makers as the industry continues to be dominated by big commercial production.   Their ciders are fun, fresh and vibrant, often with the quintessential SW lick of tannin balanced by natural sweetness of their apples.  Will & Anna only make around 3000 bottles a year - so this is truly small-batch production.

THE PLACE

A family-run smallholding bringing traditional cider-making back to their 12 acre farm in mid-Devon. Smith Hayne farm dates back to the 1300s but the orchards had been lost over the years (as is all too common in the southwest) and replanted in the 1970s.  Since 2018 the orchards were taken out of conventional management and have remained unsprayed since.
