WINE TASTING Thursday Sept 24th 6.30pm
We've a selection of new arrivals due imminently from some amazing new producers in Hungary so thought it's high time to do a tasting exploring this of-overlooked and historic wine-producing country.
Famed for its honey-sweet Tokaj, declared the "the wine of kings, the king of wines" in the 1600s by Louis XIV there's so much more to Hungarian wine, with heritage grapes like Furmint, Harslevelu and Kadarka to rival any of the well known international (see French) varieties. So come along and try!
Our tastings are relaxed group events where we open a range of wines or ciders to explore a theme, region or style. We usually taste 5-6 bottles, with some snacks available too. The tasting itself will typically take about 1.5 hours starting at 6.30pm with questions afterwards. After the tasting you're welcome to stay for more chat, drinks & nibbles if you'd like (closing 10pm).
