Meet the maker - Paolo from Colleformica
Thursday 27th March. 6.30pm.
Based in Velletri in Lazio, 45Km south east of Rome. Colleformica is a father-son led operation from Sergio and Paolo Bombetti. Farming just 3 hectares that the family has owned for over 130 years with 2Ha dedicated to vines - the remaining land used for vegetables and olive trees (that predate the family owning this land!). The land here is all about volcanic soils being based in a now extinct crater with a lake replacing the lava at the centre. Their wines are great value for truly vibrant and flavourful table wines based on local grape varieties such as Malvasia di Candida, Trebbiano, Primitivo and Sangiovese.
Our tastings are relaxed group events where we open a range of wines or ciders to explore a theme, region or style. We usually taste 5-6 bottles, with some snacks available too. The tasting itself will typically take about 1.5 hours starting at 6.30pm with questions afterwards. After the tasting you're welcome to stay for more chat, drinks & nibbles if you'd like (closing 10pm).
