WINE TASTING Thursday Oct 22nd 6.30pm
 
Famed as the medieval 'Black Wine of Cahors', favourite tipple of the Plantagenet court (think King Richard the Lionheart if you're not familiar with your English medieval royalty), this lovely little grape has had a rough time being taken as seriously as its Bordelais cousins in modern times - sometimes referred to as their 'rustic cousin'.  Now to add insult to injury it has become synonymous with cheap Argentinan plonk.  We think it's high time we shine a spotlight on the winemakers treating it with the care and respect it deserves.  Grown organically, with respect for nature, treated to minimal interference in the cellar with gentle winemakeing you can expect a wide and rich flavour profile - sometimes delicate, sometimes bold.  
 
Our tastings are relaxed group events where we open a range of wines or ciders to explore a theme, region or style. We usually taste 5-6 bottles, with some snacks available too. The tasting itself will typically take about 1.5 hours starting at 6.30pm with questions afterwards. After the tasting you're welcome to stay for more chat, drinks & nibbles if you'd like (closing 10pm).
