The king of grapes?  Pinot Noir really does hold a special place in the hearts of oenophiles.  So what better way to kickstart the year's tastings than with an evening dedicated to exploring this grapes versatility.

Wine Tasting - Pinot Noir. Thursday 8th Feb 2024 6.30pm

Pinot Noir's fame lies in its unparalleled ability to captivate wine enthusiasts with a delicate yet complex profile. Renowned as the "heartbreak grape" due to its challenging cultivation, Pinot Noir thrives in specific cool-climate regions, showcasing an exquisite balance of red fruit flavors, subtle earthiness, and a velvety texture. Its versatility allows winemakers to craft a spectrum of styles, from light and elegant to bold and structured. Pinot Noir's charm extends to its adaptability to express terroir, reflecting the unique characteristics of the vineyard where it's grown. Whether in the iconic Burgundy region of France or the cool corners of the New World, Pinot Noir's allure persists, earning it a hallowed place among the world's most celebrated grape varieties.

Our tastings are relaxed group events where we open a range of wines or ciders to explore a theme, region or style. We usually taste 5-6 bottles, with some snacks available too. The tasting itself will typically take about 1.5 hours, with questions afterwards. After the tasting you're welcome to stay for more chat, drinks & nibbles if you'd like (closing 10pm).
